Design of New Antifungal Dithiocarbamic Esters Having Bio-Based Acrylate Moiety
Abstract
Nine new dithiocarbamic esters derived from bio-based acrylic acid were synthesized and evaluated for their in vitro antifungal activity against the phytopathogenic fungus Fusarium solani and fungi-like oomycete Phytophthora infestans. Among these nine dithiocarbamic derivatives, compound 6 (tert-butyl 3-(N,N-diethyldithiocarbamoyl)-propanoate) showed interesting antifungal efficacy at low concentration compared to the other tested dithiocarbamates. The structure–antifungal activity relationship of these designed dithiocarbamic esters is discussed.
